Very confusing with too many characters. The book did not flow. Jumps around and did not really connect the characters.
Didn't find it to be a thriller, just dragged on and many times I was just going to stop reading. Several chapters repeated the same thing. Easy to figure out the killer. Did not enjoy this book.
My first reading from this author. It took me a while to synchronize with his writing style. I was never able to determine the significance of the girl on the bicycle and Danny, what it contributed to the main theme of the story. Also, the episode with "Julie"...... I somehow was confused by the incident vs the later description of the planning. Anyway, overall an interesting story line that I would recommend to readers of thrillers.
Wow what a story. I was captivated by this book from page 1. The characters were all good with interesting stories of their own. I had no idea who did it until the murderer admitted to it before the book was over. Then we hear the how the why etc. this was a good read with lots of characters who all had interesting stories of their own. Enjoyed it.
The story about Owen who was clearly mentally disturbed and Callum who bullied and tormented him from the time they were boys and the girl Abi that Owen secretly loved and the Bully married. When Callum is found murdered, it's only a matter of time until the murderer is discovered. That is when you don't want to put this book down . The author brings this novel to an intriguing conclusion that you will not soon forget. I'm looking g
It took me awhile to get into this book. I had a problem keeping some of the characters straight, (still do.) However, once I'm did become immersed in the book (1/2) the way through I really enjoyed it and it's major character OWEN. I just feel there were too many subplots, and unnecessary characters going on in this story. Maybe a few less chapters? Anyway, I don't mean to tear apart this book, so I will say carefully for fear of spoilers, that the author had OWEN down pat! To a tee! I worked in that field for over twenty years. SO MUCH SYMPATHY FOR HIM 😵
I wish I had paid more attention to the dates at the beginning of the chapters, as it would have helped me piece the story together, but I liked the characters and the tale is unique. I am still perplexed about the primary character.... Brain damaged? Autistic? Just plain nuts? Normal? Hmmm
This was a different and interesting read for me. I did like the way it bounced from one person to the next, actually I did have a little bit of trouble with remembering a few people until I got a ways into the book. Overall I would recommend this book to anyone that likes crime thrillers.
